| New Surfer Chick on ‘90210′ | |
|
Set to bring some feistiness on Bev High is a new surfer chick who will turn a few heads on 90210, TV Guide reports. Newcomer Amalia Zinser (no Wikipedia entry, gasp) has been cast to play Ivy, a surfer chick who will reportedly flirt with both Dixon (Tristan Wilds) and Liam (Matt Lanter) at the beach – something that doesn’t bode well for both Silver (Jessica Stroup) and Naomi (AnnaLynne McCord), who will patch things up on the upcoming second season.
“She’s the quintessential California girl — easy-going, athletic and full of fun,” a source says, adding that Ivy’s first appearance will be sometime in October. Zinser’s prior screen credits include guest spots on Cold Case, Southland, and Cupid. And it’s as if Dixon and Silver’s relationship won’t suffer enough beating this season. First thanks to an African-American woman who pursues Dixon named Sasha, and a tennis champ who pursues Silver. The tennis champ golden boy will be played by former Days of our Lives cast and Abercrombie & Fitch model Trevor Donovan. 90210 is set to kick off its sophomore run on Tuesday, September 8, 8pm on the CW. source: Buddy TV |

| Television Review: 90210, “One Party Can Ruin Your Whole Summer” | |
|
Naomi doesn’t get to attend her own after-prom, however, because — surprise! — Adrianna (Jessica Lowndes) has gone into labor, three weeks early! Naomi joins Navid (Michael Steger) and the Wilson parental units, Harry and Debbie (Rob Estes, Lori Loughlin) at the hospital to await the blessed and tearful event, and it’s here that Harry and Debbie learn that something just wasn’t quite right with the food at the official school-sponsored after-prom party, and it enables Debbie to accidentally glom onto a secret desire harbored by their friend Kelly (Jennie Garth). The maternity ward also serves as the platform for the return of Brenda (Shannen Doherty), freshly back from China — and what she was doing there ties in nicely to Adrianna’s current situation and decisions. Of course, all the major action is going on back at Naomi’s house, where Annie tries desperately to hold things together for Naomi. But that doesn’t stop Dixon (Tristan Wilds) from confronting his friend, Ethan (Dustin Milligan), over Dixon’s relationship with the ever-volatile Erin Silver (Jessica Stroup). And when Jen spies Liam (Matt Lanter) among the attendees, she sees a situation rife with all kinds of vicious opportunities. This season finale leaves us with a ton of cliffhangers. You won’t believe what Naomi says to Annie. You’ll be shocked by who Annie calls. And just exactly who did Annie run into after leaving Naomi’s party? And Liam finds that his stepfather will go to extreme lengths to “take care” of his new stepson. There’s a new zip in the old zipcode, and it looks to be a long, anxious summer. 90210, “One Party Can Ruin Your Whole Summer” airs Tuesday, May 19, at 9pm ET / 8pm CT on the CW Network. |

| Jessica Talks 90210, and Dustin’s Exit | |
|
Just when you thought things were calming down for Silver, think again. When last we saw her, Silver had an emotional, near-fatal episode at Los Angeles’ Union Station — read: She was almost hit by a train — and Dixon realized that his crazy-in-love girlfriend was actually manic depressive. But things are far from settled. In tonight’s episode, an embarrassed Silver will ship off to an all-girls school to get away from her problems. (To that we say, simmer down, sister: Adrianna was a druggie who got knocked up by non-boyfriend Ty. And now? It’s all good.) Luckily, Silver’s in line for some TLC from Donna Martin – she’s back and feeling maternal – and a potential love interest from an unexpected (and yet, convenient?) place. Actress Jessica Stroup, 22, spills the beans. Where is Silver’s head at in tonight’s episode? From the preview (above) it looks like Silver may be getting help from the one and only Donna Martin, now world-famous fashion designer. Tori Spelling’s return has been a long time coming. Does she live up to the hype? How did she and Jennie Garth get along? You don’t like the Emily Valentine comparison, but it’s the first one people made when Silver went nuts on Dixon. Do you think you did enough in last week’s episode to separate Silver from the infamous Emily? Did Jason Priestly, who directed last week’s episode, give you any advice on going all out? Did we see Silver hit rock bottom? From the looks of the preview, Dixon’s got his own mama drama coming up. What’s the future for Dixon and Silver? And then Ethan swoops in? That’s cold. So is the door still open for Ethan (played by rumored real-life boyfriend Dustin Milligan) to come back next season? |

| Jessica’s Offscreen Boyfriend Not Returning to ‘90210′ | |

Sources confirm to me exclusively that Dustin Milligan, who plays affable jock (and one half of 90210’s central super couple) Ethan, won’t be returning to the show in the fall — at least not full time. Reps for The CW and producer Paramount declined comment, but a 90210 insider confirms that Milligan’s contract option is not being picked up for next season. The source adds that the door is being left open for the actor to briefly appear in the fall to wrap up Ethan’s story. All indications are that Milligan’s exit was strictly a creative decision. “Everyone loves Dustin,” maintains the insider. “There was just a feeling that the character had run its course.” (Curiously, the news comes just days after Milligan’s newbie co-star, Matt Lanter — a.k.a. bad boy Liam — confirmed that he was being promoted to a series regular next season.) The departure of one the show’s most high profile leading men is the clearest indication yet that Sinclair’s ongoing reboot of the reboot will be anything but minor. Viewers will get their first taste of the Gilmore Girl alum’s new vision when 90210 returns from its winter hiatus this Tuesday with a hilariously campy outing that features the primetime soap trifecta: stalkers, street-racing, and scenery-chewing! Looking ahead to season 2, Sinclair said last month that she wants to “reconceive things visually. There are opportunities to embrace California culture visually in terms of fashion and style; I want it to be more contemporary. “If Gossip Girl is about youth in New York,” she elaborated, “I want to [make 90210] about youth in L.A. and Beverly Hills.” The writer-producer also plans to rely less on 90210 vets such as Jennie Garth, Shannen Doherty, and Tori Spelling to boost ratings. “The show tried to be a lot of things to a lot of people in its first season,” she conceded. “I think the center lies with the generation of kids that are in high school now. I’m not interested in casting people for stunt value.” Sinclair, who replaces original show-runners Jeff Judah and Gabe Sachs, said the show will benefit from having a singular vision. “The advantage of having one person — me — [in charge] is that scripts, what happens on the set, casting… it all speaks in one voice.” Thoughts on Sinclair’s new 90210? Waiting to pass judgment until you see this season’s remaining episodes? Is the loss of cute-but-boring Ethan a step in the right or wrong direction? Sound off below! |

| 90210: Preview of Episode 16 “Of Heartbreaks and Hotels” | |

Naomi (AnnaLynne McCord), comfortable with her new living situation, is immediately taken by Liam (guest star Matt Lanter, Heroes), a hot bartender at her hotel. Sparks begin to fly between the two but Naomi is confused by the mystery that surrounds Liam. Silver (Jessica Stroup) gets extremely upset when her surprise Valentine’s Day dinner for Dixon (Tristan Wilds) doesn’t go as planned, but the two find a way to make the date a moment to remember. Annie (Shenae Grimes) becomes increasingly jealous of Ethan (Dustin Milligan) and Rhonda’s (Aimee Teegarden) close connection and takes advantage of information about Rhonda’s past in order to benefit herself, causing Ethan to confront her about her terrible actions. Adrianna (Jessica Lowndes) doesn’t have a date for the dance and decides to spend the night loading up on chocolate, until she hears a surprise knock on her door. Source: Buddy TV |

| Tori Spelling and Jennie Garth: 90210 Reunion | |

SEE A COUPLE MORE PHOTOS HERE! It’s been a long time coming, and yesterday Tori Spelling was spotted on the set of “90210” along with fellow former castmate Jennie Garth. Reprising her role as Donna Martin, Tori shot a car driving scene on the Los Angeles set along with Garth and Jessica Stroup, looking happy as ever to be back. And while she’s definitely pumped about her return to television, Spelling has plenty to be thankful for on the homefront as well – her 7-month-old daughter Stella has been saying her first words. Tori told press, “Today she said ‘mama’ for the first time. It was like the biggest day. I was like, ‘Oh my god!’ Your heart just melts.” source: Gossip Girls |

It’s prom night, and the powers that be have come down particularly hard on the concept of an after-prom party, with all the underage drinking that would inevitably take place. The West Coast is apparently a lot stricter in at least attempting to enforce this than is the East Coast, where the cast of Gossip Girl not only engage in underage drinking, but do so with the blessing of bartenders and consenting adults. This doesn’t stop the kids of the 90210 from trying to plan one, however, and when the original party gets outed before it can even begin — with everyone laying the blame at the feet of poor Annie Wilson (Shenae Grimes) — Naomi (AnnaLyne McCord) comes to the rescue by offering to have the party at her place. Of course, when snooty sister Jen (Sara Foster) disagrees, Naomi is quick to put her in her place, seeing as how Naomi is the only one paying the rent. Bad move, Naomi — particularly since you just overshared Liam’s confidential information. I wonder what Jen will do with those little kernels of forbidden knowledge to get back at you?
90210’s new boss lady, Rebecca Rand Kirshner Sinclair, recently told me that the soap’s second season would be “significantly” different than the first, and, man, she wasn’t kidding.
It’s Valentine’s Day and Aimee Teegarden (Friday Night Lights) and Matt Lander (Heroes) guest star.
